Collection Scope and Content Summary
Dr. Reynolds's papers were transferred from her office to the TCU Library in June 2014. The papers are arranged in five series: Series I. Sisters of St. Mary of Namur, 1958-2010; Series II. TCU Story Project, 2005-2006; Series III. Subject files, 1894-2013; Series IV. Collected research material, 1835-1931; and Series V. Audiovisual material, 1991-2006. The first series contains research and interview transcripts with nuns from St. Mary of Namur. The TCU Stories series includes interviews conducted by Sherrie Reynolds and her staff with TCU alumnae and staff. These interviews focus on the experiences of minority women at TCU in the 1970s and 1980s. The subject files and collected research material are a compilation of research collected over the years. Staff removed materials from binders for preservation purposes. Finally, the audiovisual series includes mostly interviews, music, and photographs of the Sisters of Saint Mary Namur. There are a few other educational and research videos.

Biographical / Historical
Sherrie Reynolds taught educational psychology in the College of Education at TCU for over 25 years. She grew up in Phoenix, Ariz., and received her B.S. in physical education at the University of Arizona (1964), M.S. in physical education at Southern Illinois University (1965), M.Ed. in counseling at Texas Woman's University (1976) and Ph.D. in psychology at Texas Woman's University (1982). Dr. Reynolds's published works include multiple papers and three books: Learning is a Verb, Higher Education Reconceived (with Toni Craven), and The Arms of God: the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur, 2011. She died in March 2014 at the age of 71 in Fort Worth, Texas.

This collection contains research, interviews, and audiovisual materials collected by Sherrie Reynolds and her staff for the TCU Story project and for the book Arms of God: the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur, 2011.
