Collection Scope and Content Summary
The records document the activities of the FPC and consist of committee files, general correspondence, goals and related materials, reports, and resource materials. The bulk of the general correspondence is between Commission members and Chancellor J. M. Moudy. Materials in the committee files include correspondence, notes, research materials, meeting minutes, and reports. In the spring of 1969, the FPC published its findings in a series of reports. The reports, and a synopsis of the reports, published in May 1969, are included in the collection. The records are arranged alphabetically by group or topic.

Conditions Governing Access
In March 1966, the University trustees authorized the appointment of the Future Planning Commission (FPC). The FPC consisted of ten committees made up of trustees, administrators, and faculty. Its task was to make projections and recommendations for improvements to TCU, concentrating on objectives to achieve through a Centennial Goals Campaign running from fall 1969 through fall 1973. The FPC held its final meeting in February 1969 and published its findings in several reports. A synopsis of those reports, entitled “The New Century Program: Synopsis of Centennial and 1980 Goals,” was published in May 1969.
