Biographical / Historical
Dr. James Philip "J.P." Barber was a teacher, public accountant, and musician. He was born in Dallas and lived in Fort Worth for 20 years. He taught at a number of schools, including Texas Christian University. He was a member of several institutions including the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Federation of Musicians, and the Keystone Masonic Lodge 1143. During the Second World War he served in the navy, receiving training in the V-12 unit stationed at TCU in 1944-1945. He passed away on March 13, 1995.
