This collection is comprised of photographs, negatives, certificates and Ligon's Diploma. These items document Lynn Ligon's time at Texas Christian Univeristy from 1960-1964 as the chief photographer for the Skiff newspaper.

Biographical / Historical
Lynn McKinley Ligon was born on September 11th, 1942 in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1960 and entered into TCU that fall as a Geology Major. He changed to Journalism-Advertisitng with a minor in Government in the spring of 1961. Ligon was active in the TCU community and served with many different fraternities and clubs. Ligon was a member of the TCU Vigilantes, at the time a men's social-service fraternity, from 1960-1964. He served as Treasurer 1961-1962, the Public Relations officer 1962-1963, and received the "Outstanding Pledge" award in 1961. Ligon was also involved with Alpha Delta Sigma, a national professional honorary advertising fraternity, from 1961-1964 and served as the Treasurer 1962-1963, Vice President 1963-1964, and President from 1964-1965. Ligon served the Air Force ROTC and was commissioned a 2nd. Lt. in the USAF upon his graduation, June 2, 1965, and was assigned as a Public Information Officer. During his time at TCU Ligon was also worked as a photographer for the Skiff Newspaper and was their Chief Photographer in 1963-1965. He was awarded for his fantastic photography skills from the undergraduate chapter of Sigma Delta Chi for outstanding photo work in TCU Publications. This collection has a large amount of his photographs and negatives during his time with the Skiff. Ligon passed away in 2017.
