The papers document the lives and careers of various members of the Clark family. The papers in the first two boxes consist of materials related to the history of TCU, including letters, reminiscences, photographs, programs, and news clippings. The papers also include genealogical research and other general material.

Edwin Lee Stiles is the great-grandson of Randolph Clark, who, along with his father Joseph Addison Clark and his brother Addison Clark, co-founded AddRan Male and Female College, which is now known as TCU.
