Biographical / Historical
Raymond Buck was born July 13, 1894. He graduated from Texas Christian University in 1913, then went on the University of Texas for his law degree, passing the bar in 1919. He had a private law practice in Fort Worth, then became increasingly active in civic affairs. He became President of Commercial Standard Insurance Company from 1952-1957. He was president of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and Vice Chairman of Continental National Bank. He was very active in aviation, serving on boards of Southwest Airport and others. He was also very active in the Democratic party, managing the campaign of Lyndon Baines Johnson's first senatorial campaign, then later for the Kennedy campaign. He died March 27, 1971 in Fort Worth, after a brief illness.
