General Note
In 1940, Amon Carter successfully aided in having a Consolidated Aircraft plant located in Fort Worth. Consolidated Aircraft became Consolidated-Vultee Aircraft or Convair in 1943. General Dynamics purchased a majority interest of Convair in 1953 and then sold its production of jet fighters in Fort Worth to Lockheed, which it remains today. These documents were gathered to support the addition of a new Consolidated Aircraft Plant in Fort Worth.
